Design Features
Stop Valve Body Styles:
- Y-Pattern Globe, Check, and Stop Check Valves: Y-pattern globe valves achieve maximum Cv values. All Y-pattern valves are rodable. Sizes range from 1/2″ to 4″; pressure classes up to ASME 4500; materials include SA105, F22, F91, F316, F347, Inconel™, Monel™, and other materials.
- T-Pattern Globe, Check, and Stop Check Valves: T-pattern globe valves feature a vertical stem for easy access and extended stem remote manual operation. Sizes range from 1/2″ to 3″; pressure classes up to 4095; materials include A105, F22, F91, F316, F347, Inconel™, Monel™, and other materials.
- Angle Pattern Globe, Check, and Stop Check Valves: Angle pattern globe valves economically eliminate the need for 90° elbows, while also reducing weld points during installation. Sizes range from 1/2″ to 4″; pressure classes up to 4095; materials include A105, F22, F91, F316, F347, Inconel™, Monel™, and other materials.
Valve Packing System: The Clampseal® packing system consists of corrosion-resistant, high-density graphite packing. Uniform loading from the axial one-piece gland, highly polished stainless steel stem, and stuffing box ensures a tight seal between the packing material and sealing surfaces.
Rapid In-Line Renewability: Clampseal® globe valves are easier to service than any other valve on the market. Clampseal® globe valve in-line repair provides modular solutions. Compared to low life-cycle costs, low valve acquisition costs are less important. Maintaining Conval valves is far easier and less costly than replacing competitors’ valves.
Pressure Seal Bonnet: The pressure seal bonnet features no welds, gaskets, or seals between the bonnet and the body, making the structure both simple and effective. The integrity of the body-to-bonnet connection has been proven through countless thermal cycle tests.
One-Piece Gland: In harsh environments, simpler designs with fewer parts result in better valve performance. The durable one-piece stainless steel gland ensures a long service life for the valve.
Axial Loading Packing System: The axial design ensures high concentricity while eliminating side loading on the packing, reducing wear on internal components. This design feature is critical to the valve’s superior performance.
Pressure-Actuated Backseat: The Clampseal® pressure-actuated backseat significantly enhances valve integrity, ensuring the stem and disc assembly are accurately positioned. When the valve is fully open, the pressure-actuated backseat protects the packing from line pressure, thereby extending packing life.
